"Selfless" women are sick, hate their bodies, and no one around them is actually benefitting. Let's break down what selfish actually means and how being the martyr is keeping you sick, tired and unhappy.
I've been thinking about the word "selfish" a lot lately.
And I want to drag it out of the trash can where society has put it and actually look at what it means, because I think we've gotten this wildly wrong.
The women in my life who are "selfish" about their self-care? They have the body you want, the energy you want, the presence you want. And the women who sacrifice everything for everyone? They're exhausted, inflamed, resentful, and often dealing with autoimmune conditions they keep ignoring.
This episode is about blowing up the story that putting yourself first is a moral failure. Because it's not. It's actually the most strategic and selfless thing you will ever do.
