Robin took her first call with me pumping in her car outside her law office, three kids at home, 20 years of Weight Watchers behind her. She released 24 pounds while still breastfeeding, quit cardio completely, and she's back in the family photos. Here’s how.
When Robin booked her first call with me she was pumping in her car outside her office. I asked if it was a good time. She said, girl, this is the only time I have.
That's the woman I want you to hear from. Full time attorney in DC. Three kids, the youngest still breastfeeding. Four to five days a week in the office, home to dinner, bath, bedtime, repeat. She and her husband call it a razor's edge, and most days it tips one way or the other.
She was about to go on a GLP-1. The doctor wouldn't prescribe it while she was breastfeeding, and she didn't want her weight to be the reason she stopped feeding her baby. So she came to me, fully expecting to hear that she'd have to wait.
What I didn't expect was how much of this episode would be about a 12 year old girl at a Weight Watchers meeting every Saturday. Popcorn for lunch because it was low in points. Earning dinner with a workout. Sneaking chocolate chips so nobody would see. 20 years of that, and it was still running the show at 37.
We get into what she actually changed, which is less than you'd think, and the 5:30am boot camp class I told her to quit. Her husband still can't wrap his head around that one. We talk about the year she refused to be in a single photo with her second baby, the red bathing suit at the pool, the farmers market moment by the peaches, and a word I think every working mom needs to hear.
If you're breastfeeding, working, exhausted and assuming your body is on hold until the kids are older, listen to this one first.
